Role Overview :

As a Backend and Product Engineer, you will serve as a core technical architect responsible for building robust, scalable systems that power our recruitment ecosystem. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate complex business requirements into high-performance backend services. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical roadmap of our platform, ensuring that our infrastructure can handle increasing traffic while maintaining seamless user experiences for both recruiters and job seekers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable backend architecture to support high-concurrency traffic and complex data processing requirements.

- Lead the end-to-end SDLC, from initial system design and prototyping to deployment and long-term maintenance of production services.

- Architect efficient database schemas and optimize query performance to ensure low-latency data retrieval across the platform.

- Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to define technical specifications that align with long-term business objectives.

- Mentor junior engineering talent through code reviews and architectural discussions to foster a culture of technical excellence.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within the existing infrastructure to improve overall system reliability and uptime.

- Manage services, connectors, the scoring engine, workflow, the obligation library, the evidence store, published APIs and the in-environment components. The senior member of the pod carries technical lead responsibility.

Tech Stack :

- Node.js and Python, contract-first APIs with published specifications.

What we are looking for :

- Demonstrated expertise in Backend Architecture and designing distributed systems that are both fault-tolerant and highly available.

- Strong proficiency in Database Design, including both relational and NoSQL paradigms, with the ability to choose the right storage strategy for specific use cases.

- Proven ability to manage the full SDLC, ensuring high-quality code delivery through rigorous testing and CI/CD practices.

- Exceptional System Design capabilities, with a track record of building modular, maintainable, and extensible backend services.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- A minimum of 5 - 10 years of professional experience in backend development, preferably within a product-based organization.

- Ability to thrive in an on-site work environment in Mumbai, contributing to a collaborative team culture.
