Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer with strong Scala expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and microservices. The role requires strong hands-on experience across Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Scala, with a focus on building reliable and scalable distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.

- Develop and enhance backend services and components using Scala.

- Design and implement RESTful APIs and distributed services following microservices architecture principles.

- Translate functional and technical requirements into robust, maintainable backend solutions.

- Develop scalable, high-performance services with appropriate focus on reliability, security, and performance.

- Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end technical solutions.

- Troubleshoot application, integration, performance, and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices.

- Develop unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.

- Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and continuous improvement of backend platforms.

- Support CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and production support activities.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 - 12 years of experience in backend/software development.

- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Scala - all mandatory.

- Strong understanding of Java programming, OOP, collections, concurrency, exception handling, and design principles.

- Hands-on experience developing and integrating REST APIs and microservices.

- Good understanding of distributed systems, service-to-service communication, scalability, and fault tolerance.

- Strong experience with Scala development in enterprise/backend applications.

- Experience with unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and production troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development practices.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and collaboration skills.
