Role Overview :

Our life sciences client is seeking a highly motivated Backend Developer with 36 years of experience in Python development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building scalable backend applications, designing RESTful APIs, managing SQL databases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Flask.

- Architect and develop RESTful APIs and microservices.

- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, stored procedures, and data models.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and performance issues.

- Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product teams, and other stakeholders.

- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

- Implement security, scalability, and performance optimization measures.

- Participate in deployment, release management, and CI/CD processes.

- Contribute to technical architecture discussions and solution design.

Required Skills :

- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Python backend development.

- Strong expertise in Flask and REST API development.

- Solid experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

- Strong knowledge of database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Experience with Git-based version control systems.

- Good understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Experience with SQLAlchemy or other ORM frameworks.

- Familiarity with message queues, caching technologies, and distributed systems.

Qualification :

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
