Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Backend Developer - TypeScript to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices using Node.js and TypeScript. The role will focus on backend application development, distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, performance, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities/KRA :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.

- Build reliable, secure, and highly available microservices and distributed backend applications.

- Develop reusable and maintainable backend components using modern TypeScript and JavaScript practices.

- Define service boundaries, API contracts, data flows, and component relationships.

- Develop asynchronous workflows, background jobs, integrations, and messaging solutions.

- Design efficient data access patterns and work with backend databases.

- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Improve application performance, scalability, stability, security, and reliability.

- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.

- Develop automated unit, integration, API, and service-level tests using Jest, Mocha, or equivalent frameworks.

- Monitor and troubleshoot backend services using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.

- Support containerized application development and deployment workflows.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, Architects, and distributed engineering teams.

- Take end-to-end ownership of backend features throughout the software lifecycle.

- Mentor engineers and contribute to backend engineering standards and best practices.

Required Skills :

- 5 - 8 years of software engineering experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed backend systems.

- Strong understanding of asynchronous, event-driven, and message-based architectures.

- Experience with backend databases and data modelling.

- Experience with Jest, Mocha, or equivalent testing frameworks.

- Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, error handling, resiliency, and performance optimization.

- Experience with Docker and Git-based development workflows.

- Strong debugging, observability, and production troubleshooting skills.

Good to Have :

- NestJS or Express.js.

- Redis / Amazon ElastiCache.

- Kubernetes.

- Infrastructure as Code.
