Role Overview :
We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Lead to drive cloud-native delivery, automation, and platform engineering initiatives. This role will focus on building reliable delivery pipelines, automating Azure infrastructure, enabling containerized workloads, and strengthening engineering practices across development and operations teams.
The ideal candidate will combine strong Azure expertise with hands-on experience in Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud security, and automation, along with the ability to guide and mentor engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities :
1. CI/CD & Release Engineering :
- Design and maintain scalable delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps Services and Azure Pipelines.
- Create and manage YAML-based workflows covering build, testing, deployment, release, and rollback activities.
- Introduce automated quality checks, approvals, and release controls into deployment processes.
- Develop Git-based delivery practices that support reliable and repeatable software releases.
- Troubleshoot pipeline and deployment issues and implement long-term improvements.
2. Infrastructure Automation :
- Build reusable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other Azure-native IaC technologies.
- Work with ARM templates and Bicep where required for resource provisioning and configuration.
- Standardize environment creation through reusable modules, templates, and automated deployment workflows.
- Support infrastructure lifecycle management across development, testing, and production environments.
3. Azure & Container Platforms :
- Manage cloud-native workloads on Microsoft Azure.
- Containerize applications using Docker and deploy workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Support Kubernetes-based application deployment, scaling, configuration, and operational activities.
- Collaborate with application teams to improve cloud-native architecture and deployment practices.
4. Security & Governance :
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD and infrastructure workflows.
- Manage application and infrastructure secrets using Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, or comparable solutions.
- Apply secure configuration practices across cloud environments.
- Support Azure identity, networking, access control, and security requirements.
- Implement governance practices around resource tagging, policies, budgets, and cloud usage.
5. Monitoring & Reliability :
- Improve platform visibility using tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Investigate production incidents, deployment failures, infrastructure issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Contribute to improving platform availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
6. Team Leadership :
- Mentor developers and engineers on Git practices, CI/CD, IaC, and cloud-native engineering.
- Establish development and deployment standards across teams.
- Review pipeline configurations, infrastructure code, and deployment approaches.
- Encourage reusable engineering patterns and automation-first practices.
7. Documentation :
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
- Develop reusable pipeline templates and infrastructure standards.
- Maintain architecture diagrams and document important platform decisions.
Required Experience :
- 6+ years of experience in cloud-native application delivery or DevOps engineering, including 3+ recent years working extensively with Azure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Services, particularly Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, and Boards.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and YAML-based workflows.
- Strong practical experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Exposure to ARM templates or Bicep is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, specifically AKS.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of Git workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Experience with secrets and configuration management using Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of Azure networking, identity, access management, and security fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, incident management, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers and supporting technical delivery across teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in a B2B IT services or IT consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- AZ-400 Microsoft Certified : DevOps Engineer Expert.
- AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate.
- AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Exposure to Azure cost management, resource governance, policies, and optimization.
- Experience creating reusable runbooks, deployment playbooks, pipeline templates, and platform documentation.
Ideal Candidate :
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Azure DevOps professional with strong leadership capabilities who can own delivery automation from infrastructure provisioning through production deployment. You should be comfortable working closely with developers, architects, security teams, and operations while driving reliable and scalable cloud engineering practices.
Compensation Note : The offered CTC includes a 5% variable component.
