Azure Data Engineer - Synapse Analytics

Prophecy Technologies is hiring a highly experienced Azure Data Engineer / Snowflake Architect to work on a major engagement with our client, HCL.

This is a full-time role with Prophecy Technologies, offering the opportunity to design and build scalable cloud data platforms using Azure and Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of end-to-end data platforms on Azure + Snowflake.

- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using ADF, Databricks, Synapse, ADLS.

- Architect Snowflake objects (warehouses, schemas, roles), optimize queries, clustering, micro-partitioning.

- Manage Snowflake migrations, performance tuning, data security, and governance.

- Implement CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions).

- Collaborate with stakeholders, prepare architecture documentation, and support production.

- Mentor junior engineers and enforce best practices.

Required Skills :

- 10+ years in data engineering / cloud data architecture.

- Strong expertise in Snowflake (DDL, ETL/ELT, Time Travel, Streams/Tasks, RBAC).

- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, ADLS/Blob.

- Strong SQL and experience with Spark/PySpark.

- Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, Terraform/ARM templates.

- Strong knowledge of data modeling and data governance.

- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Good to Have :

- Snowflake or Azure certifications.

- Experience with dbt / Fivetran / Matillion.

- Experience integrating with Power BI or Tableau.

Education :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
