Job Purpose :

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer - Azure with strong expertise in Data Migration and ADF to lead a critical data migration engagement. The candidate will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines while ensuring best practices in Azure-based solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deliver data engineering solutions aligned with enterprise requirements.

- Lead data migration projects using ADF and SQL.

- Work on rapid prototyping and POC development.

- Advance technical architecture and implementation best practices.

- Define and refine functional/non-functional requirements.

- Ensure compliance with regulations and security standards.

- Deliver high-quality solutions within deadlines.

- Collaborate in small, agile teams with short iteration cycles.

- Mentor and guide junior engineers in data practices.

- Work with architects and management for solution direction.

Required Technical Skills :

- Expert in Data Migration (ADF + SQL)

- Strong hands-on with MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, Data Lake

- Advanced SQL (queries, stored procedures, triggers, performance tuning)

- Data mart & data warehousing (Star, Snowflake schemas)

- Data pipeline design (ETL/ELT workflows)

- Experience with DDL/DML and database design

- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture (preferred)

- Cloud exposure: AWS, Snowflake (preferred)

- Source control (Git), CI/CD, REST, JSON, Web API familiarity

Must-Have Competencies :

- Strong expertise in data modeling, query optimization, performance tuning

- Ability to work with large datasets

- Agile working experience with remote teams

- Excellent communication & client-facing skills

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Good-to-Have :

- Exposure to additional Azure services beyond ADF

- Experience in mentoring/coaching teams

Educational Qualification :

- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience of 4+ years in related field)
