Azure Data Architect

Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Azure Data Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, with a strong emphasis on Azure Databricks. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud data architecture, data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, and best practices for data governance and security.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time position available in Bangalore, Chennai, Gurgaon, Pune, and Kolkata.

Key Responsibilities :

As an Azure Data Architect, you will be responsible for :

- Architectural Leadership : Lead the design, architecting, and implementation of scalable and high-performance data solutions and data platforms primarily using Azure Databricks.

- Solution Development : Develop and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using core technologies like Python, PySpark, and SQL for processing high-volume, complex data sets.

- Strategic Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to define the overall data architecture, data pipelines, and data governance standards.

- Stakeholder Management : Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to translate complex data requirements and business needs into well-defined, robust technical solutions.

- Platform Integration : Integrate and manage data ingestion, storage, and processing across multiple diverse sources using key Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics (where applicable).

- Quality & Performance : Implement advanced practices for data quality, monitoring, and performance tuning to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and security of the data platform.

- Mentorship & Best Practices : Mentor junior team members, conduct thorough code reviews, and actively promote best practices in cloud data engineering and architecture across the team.

Required Qualifications :

- Experience : 9+ years of overall professional experience in data warehousing, data engineering, and data architecture roles.

- Azure Expertise : Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

- Databricks Mastery : Deep, practical experience leading projects utilizing Azure Databricks (including Delta Lake, notebooks, and cluster management).

- Technical Skills : Expert proficiency in developing high-performance data processing code using Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL.

- ETL/ELT Tools : Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestration and managing data movement.

- Architectural Design : Proven ability to define scalable cloud-native architectures, including data lakehouse patterns, data warehousing (e.g., Synapse), and streaming data solutions.

- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills (Nice to Have) :

- Experience with other components of the Azure data ecosystem (e.g., Azure Stream Analytics, Event Hubs).

- Knowledge of modern DataOps and MLOps principles.

- Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Engineering or Architecture (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
