The Opportunity :

We have an opportunity for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our new Cloud Delivery Assurance (CDA) team in Bangalore or Pune, India, reporting to the Director, Cloud Delivery Assurance.

In this pivotal role, you will architect the automation and quality gates that decide whether our SaaS software is ready to ship. You will own significant components of the automated promotion pipeline - the frameworks, the gate logic, and the evidence and reporting behind every decision to move software from dev clusters to integration and staging clusters and into production.

Collaborating closely with platform and application engineering teams, Solutions QA (end-to-end functional testing), Site Reliability Engineering (stress, scale, HA, DR, and chaos testing), and DevOps, you will set technical direction for how quality is automated across the platform and raise the bar for the engineers around you.

You are the ideal candidate if you are a senior engineer who builds systems rather than scripts, are deeply fluent in Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud infrastructure, and use AI-assisted development to compress what used to take a whole team a quarter.

Be a Contributor - What You'll Do :

- Architect, develop, and own core components of the test-automation framework, shared libraries, and ephemeral test environments used across platform and application teams

- Design and implement the quality gates governing artifact promotion - entry and exit criteria, pass/fail logic, evidence collection, hold-and-return behavior, and automated rollback

- Lead integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines across pre-merge, build, deploy, post-deploy, and scheduled certification runs

- Build the reporting layer that makes readiness defensible - readiness scorecards, coverage, escape rate, flakiness, and quality and risk views for engineering leadership

- Automate deployment, upgrade, mixed-version, and rollback validation across dev, integration, and staging clusters

- Set technical direction and standards for automation design, test data, environment management, and pipeline reliability, and drive adoption across teams

- Advance AI-assisted development and AI-generated test coverage within the team, establishing effective patterns and guardrails

- Lead complex failure investigations spanning code, tests, environments, and infrastructure, and drive systemic fixes with owning teams

- Partner with Solutions QA to align coverage boundaries and with SRE to consume scale, HA, DR, and chaos results as gate inputs

- Own documentation and runbooks for the automation and gate framework, and represent CDA in release-readiness and go/no-go reviews

Be Prepared - What You Bring :

- Seven or more years of software engineering, test automation, or quality engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership of a significant automation or delivery-assurance area

- Proven record architecting test-automation frameworks and quality gates and Python, Java, or JavaScript, with the ability to design systems and review others' code

- Proven record architecting test-automation frameworks and quality gates and integrating them into CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo, or Spinnaker

- Deep system-level knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux - workloads, networking, storage, Helm, operators, resource behavior, and debugging - plus solid experience with a public cloud such as AWS or GCP

- Strong DevOps skills including containers, infrastructure as code such as Terraform, configuration management, and building or operating test and deployment environments at scale

- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate framework development, test generation, and coverage expansion, with judgment about where they apply

- Depth in testing distributed systems and microservices, including REST or gRPC APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native applications

- Experience with release engineering concepts such as artifact promotion, progressive delivery, canary and deployment verification, and rollback

- Strong communication and influence skills, with a record of mentoring engineers and driving adoption of shared tooling across teams

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have :

Experience with performance, resilience, contract, or security testing; progressive delivery and canary validation; release engineering; and contributions to shared engineering frameworks or developer-productivity tooling.

Be Successful - Your Path :

First 90 Days :

Six Months :

- Own the design and operation of a major gate or framework area in the promotion pipeline, with evidence collection automated end to end.

- Deliver validation that runs on every release candidate with low flakiness, clear reporting, and adoption by partner teams.

- Establish automation patterns and AI-assisted practices that measurably raise team throughput and coverage.

One Year :

- Serve as the technical lead for a significant portion of the automation and quality-gate platform, and a trusted voice in release-readiness decisions.

- Drive automated critical regression and upgrade-validation coverage to target levels, contributing directly to fewer customer-found defects and release-time incidents.

- Improve pipeline efficiency and signal quality across the platform, and grow engineers through mentoring and technical review.
