Automotive Diagnostic Software Engineer - .NET/C#

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Software Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET, WPF, CAN, and UDS. The role will focus on developing Windows-based automotive diagnostic applications and implementing vehicle diagnostic functionality for ECU communication and programming.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Windows-based automotive diagnostic applications using C#, .NET, and WPF.

- Implement and integrate UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) over CAN communication.

- Develop software functionality for communication with Electronic Control Units (ECUs).

- Implement automotive diagnostic functions including ECU identification, reading/clearing DTCs, ECU reset, diagnostic sessions, security access, ECU flashing/programming, and data read/write operations.

- Develop and integrate automotive diagnostic protocols into software applications.

- Work with CAN/CAN Bus communication and troubleshoot communication-related issues.

- Debug diagnostic communication between the application and vehicle ECUs.

- Analyze and resolve software, communication, and diagnostic issues.

- Collaborate with automotive, embedded, and software engineering teams.

- Participate in software design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance.

- Ensure diagnostic applications meet required functionality, reliability, and quality standards.

- Create and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills :

- 7 - 9 years of software development experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET.

- Experience developing applications using WPF.

- Strong practical knowledge of UDS - Unified Diagnostic Services.

- Strong hands-on experience with CAN / CAN Bus.

- Experience with ECU diagnostics and ECU flashing / programming.

- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostic protocols and vehicle communication.

- Experience debugging communication and diagnostic issues.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with automotive diagnostic tools and applications.

- Knowledge of additional automotive communication protocols.

- Experience working with embedded systems or vehicle ECUs.

- Experience in automotive software development processes.

Important : Candidates should have actual hands-on experience developing automotive diagnostic software, not merely operating diagnostic tools.
