Automation Testing (Playwright) - Contract

Elgebra is seeking an experienced and dedicated Automation Testing professional with expertise in Playwright to join our team on a contract basis. This is an exciting hybrid role primarily based in Bengaluru, offering some work-from-home flexibility.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites.

Key Responsibilities :

As an Automation Testing Specialist, your core responsibilities will include :

- Design and Development: Architecting, writing, and maintaining efficient and reliable automated test scripts primarily using the Playwright framework.

- Test Execution & Analysis: Executing automated test suites across various environments and meticulously analyzing test results to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and potential issues.

- Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional development, product, and quality assurance teams to understand product requirements, define comprehensive test cases, and ensure optimal test coverage.

- Defect Management: Actively participating in the debugging and troubleshooting of test failures, clearly documenting and tracking defects to resolution.

- Process Improvement: Contributing to the continuous improvement of the testing process, including framework enhancements, adoption of best practices, and staying current with automation tools and technologies.

- Quality Assurance: Upholding high standards for product quality by participating in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and release activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience :

Must-Haves :

- Experience: A minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance and dedicated Automation Testing roles.

- Playwright Mastery: Deep, demonstrable expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end automation test frameworks using Playwright.

- Technical Foundation: Strong proficiency in programming/scripting languages relevant to Playwright (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python).

- Testing Principles: A solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies, including different types of testing (e.g., functional, regression, integration).

- Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and debugging skills to quickly diagnose the root cause of complex technical issues and test failures.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Teamwork: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and contribute positively within a collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-Haves (A Plus) :

- Methodologies: Practical experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment.

- Tools: Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
