We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Tester with deep expertise in Playwright-based test automation. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience designing, developing, and scaling automation frameworks and test suites across complex, distributed software systems. This role requires strong technical proficiency, a deep understanding of modern QA engineering practices, and the ability to drive automation strategy in alignment with product and engineering goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Playwright Automation Development :

- Architect, design, and maintain robust end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright in JavaScript/TypeScript.

- Develop reusable, modular, and scalable automation components for UI, API, and functional testing.

- Implement cross-browser and cross-platform automated test suites ensuring stable, consistent test execution.

Test Execution & Quality Ownership :

- Execute automated test scripts as part of CI pipelines and monitor test runs for reliability and accuracy.

- Perform root-cause analysis for automation failures, triage issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve defects.

- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across user workflows, integrations, and edge cases.

Collaboration & Engineering Practices :

- Work closely with developers, product owners, and QA leads to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and automation priorities.

- Participate actively in code reviews, ensuring automation scripts and frameworks meet engineering standards and adhere to best practices.

- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test documentation, and engineering workflows.

Continuous Integration & DevOps Alignment :

- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

- Ensure the automation framework supports parallel execution, environment-based configurations, reporting dashboards, and automated notifications.

- Collaborate with DevOps engineers to optimize test execution performance and environment stability.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in Playwright, including test script development, debugging, and framework creation.

- Proven experience working on 2- 3 large-scale Playwright automation projects end-to-end.

- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and performance-oriented code.

- Solid understanding of test design principles such as data-driven testing, page object model (POM), component-based architecture, and API-level validation.

- Expertise with version control tools (Git) and branching strategies.

- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and test orchestrators.

- Experience with Agile processes, sprint-based delivery, and quality-first development methodologies.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with API automation using Playwright or tools like Postman/Newman, REST Assured, or similar.

- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker) and cloud-based testing platforms.

- Exposure to performance testing concepts and tooling is an added advantage.
