About the Role :

Cortex is looking for a seasoned Automation Test Lead with strong technical expertise in automation frameworks, performance testing, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in designing and implementing test automation strategies, leading QA teams, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in fast-paced environments.

This is a key leadership role requiring hands-on automation skills, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Mandatory Technical Skills :

Automation Tools & Frameworks :

- Strong hands-on experience in Selenium and/or Playwright for web automation.

- Expertise in BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar).

Programming Languages :

- Proficiency in Java and JavaScript for automation script development.

Performance Testing :

- Experience working with JMeter and Performance Testing (PT) methodologies.

Communication & Collaboration :

- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Must-Have Requirements :

- Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing (overall 1012 years in QA).

- Experience working as a Lead on at least 34 automation projects.

- Proven team handling and mentoring experience (resource planning, task allocation, code reviews, training, performance monitoring).

Roles & Responsibilities (Detailed) :

Test Automation Strategy & Execution :

- Define, design, and implement sustainable automation frameworks for applications.

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium/Playwright with Java or JavaScript.

- Ensure automation coverage is aligned with project requirements and business priorities.

Team Leadership & Mentorship :

- Lead a team of automation engineers, ensuring high-quality output and continuous skill growth.

- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior team members.

- Manage workload distribution, timelines, and deliverables efficiently.

Test Management & Coordination :

- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure seamless test cycles.

- Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and test strategy discussions.

- Identify quality risks and define mitigation strategies.

Test Execution & Reporting :

- Execute automated test suites and analyze results with accuracy.

- Ensure clear defect reporting, tracking, and timely closure.

- Prepare test reports, metrics, and dashboards for leadership/stakeholders.

Performance Testing :

- Conduct performance testing using JMeter, analyze results, and provide recommendations.

- Simulate load conditions and identify performance bottlenecks.

Continuous Improvement :

- Evaluate and implement new testing tools, frameworks, and best practices.

- Drive automation maturity and encourage innovation within the QA team.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) :

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).

- Knowledge of API automation (Postman, RestAssured).

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

- ISTQB or relevant certification
