About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Automation Lead with strong expertise in Selenium, TestNG, and Java-based automation frameworks to lead our QA automation team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable automation frameworks, mentoring automation engineers, ensuring high test coverage, and driving continuous testing in Agile/DevOps environments.

You will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure product quality through robust automation solutions and effective test strategies across multiple platforms and applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and TestNG.

- Define and implement automation strategies to ensure maximum test coverage and maintainability.

- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

- Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and processes to enhance testing efficiency.

- Lead automation feasibility studies and decide on the automation scope.

- Create and maintain test scripts for functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing.

- Implement data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid frameworks based on project needs.

- Develop reusable test utilities and libraries for cross-application use.

- Execute and monitor automated test suites during build and release cycles.

- Validate APIs, databases, and UI workflows to ensure consistent application performance.

- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of automation engineers and QA analysts.

- Define team objectives, KPIs, and testing best practices.

- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure test reliability.

- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and product teams to align testing goals with business needs.

- Manage resource allocation and ensure on-time delivery of automation deliverables.

- Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps.

- Ensure timely triage and resolution of automation test failures.

- Generate detailed test reports, dashboards, and defect metrics for management.

- Communicate test results and automation progress effectively to stakeholders.

- Advocate for Shift-Left Testing and Continuous Quality within the SDLC.

- Collaborate with CI/CD teams to integrate test execution in pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on failed test cases to prevent recurrence.

- Drive innovation in test automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

Technical Skills :

Core Competencies :

- Strong proficiency in Java programming language.

- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and TestNG frameworks.

- Experience in building custom test automation frameworks from scratch.

- Good understanding of OOPs concepts and design patterns for automation.

- Expertise in XPath, CSS Selectors, and DOM structure for web UI automation.
