We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in automated testing for mobile and web applications. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites that ensure our messaging platform is fast, reliable, secure, and bug-free across all supported devices and environments.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Test Automation Development :

- Design and implement robust, reusable, and scalable automated test cases for mobile (Android/iOS) and web clients.

- Maintain and enhance existing test frameworks using tools like Appium, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.

- Develop automated tests for functional, UI, regression, and integration scenarios.

2. Test Planning & Execution :

- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand feature requirements and define test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.

- Execute automated and manual tests for new features and releases as needed.

- Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies in Jira or similar tools.

3. CI/CD Integration :

- Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous quality checks.

- Ensure tests run reliably in staging and production environments and support test reporting and alerts.

4. Performance & Load Testing :

- Assist in performance and load testing of backend messaging services using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.

- Report bottlenecks and work with backend teams to reproduce and fix issues under scale.

5. Cross-Platform Validation :

- Validate cross-platform behavior between web, iOS, and Android clients (e.g., message sync, delivery receipts, notifications).

- Ensure consistent user experience and message integrity across devices and network conditions.

Required Qualifications :

- 6+ years of experience in QA automation for mobile or web applications.

- Strong proficiency in at least one automation framework : Appium, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Detox.

- Hands-on experience with testing mobile apps (Android/iOS) and web apps.

- Experience writing automated scripts in JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar languages.

- Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.

- Familiar with RESTful APIs, WebSocket testing, and tools like Postman or Charles Proxy.

- Experience working with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub

Actions, Bitrise).

- Comfortable using test management and bug tracking tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Prior experience testing messaging platforms, chat apps, or real-time communication tools.

- Exposure to security testing, data privacy, or encryption verification.

- Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling) and metrics interpretation.

- Familiarity with Docker, emulators/simulators, and mobile device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce

Labs).

- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is a plus
