Role Overview :

We are looking for a Test & Automation Engineer specializing in software testing for industrial and automation systems. The role involves verification, validation, and automation of tests for critical industrial automation components, including PLC firmware, motion control modules, and edge computing solutions.

You will work closely with R&D, firmware, and system engineering teams to ensure robustness, reliability, and quality of next-generation industrial automation solutions.

Components Under Test :

You will be responsible for developing and automating tests for the following components :

1. Motion Modules of Slice IO (Schneider Electric platform for real-time industrial data management and optimization)

2. Edge Compute Node (ECN) of M580 PLC (Low-level firmware and system code)

3. NUA Module of M580 PLC

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and automate test cases for industrial automation solutions.

- Write Python-based automation scripts for functional, regression, and system testing.

- Execute and monitor manual and automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.

- Develop test strategies to improve test coverage, efficiency, and automation maturity.

- Analyze test results, identify defects, and provide detailed test reports and recommendations.

- Track, manage, and resolve defects using JIRA and related tools.

- Collaborate closely with R&D, firmware, and system teams to optimize testing approaches.

- Maintain and enhance test environments for PLC, firmware, and embedded systems.

- Stay updated with emerging testing methodologies and tools relevant to industrial environments.

Required Technical Skills :

Testing & Automation :

- Strong expertise in software testing methodologies, processes, and automation practices.

- Hands-on experience with Python for test automation.

- Experience testing industrial systems or embedded platforms.

Industrial Automation & Embedded Systems :

- Background in industrial automation, including :

1. PLC programming and testing

2. Validation of programmable logic controllers

3. Working knowledge of C / C++ to understand firmware-level behavior and embedded interactions.

Tools & Platforms :

- Git for version control.

- JIRA for test management and defect tracking.

- Selenium for UI automation (where applicable).

- Linux environments for test execution.

- Experience with Raspberry Pi for embedded testing setups.

Protocols & Networking :

- Familiarity with industrial and network communication protocols :

Nice to Have :

- Exposure to FPGA, Docker, or containerized test environments.

- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles in industrial systems.

Profile & Qualifications :

- Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Computing or equivalent discipline

- 5-8 years of relevant experience in software testing and automation within an industrial or embedded systems environment.
