Role Overview :

Were looking for a Quality Engineer who brings a strong background in automation testing across backend and frontend services, but is equally comfortable diving into manual testing when needed.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the nuances of fintech, especially lending and payments, and is passionate about shipping high-quality features at speed.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own the end-to-end testing lifecycle for backend APIs and frontend interfaces.

- Design, develop, and maintain automation suites (using Cypress, Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools).

- Perform manual exploratory testing for critical workflows and edge cases.

- Work closely with developers, product managers, and business teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.

- Implement test strategies that balance speed and depth, especially in fast-moving sprints.

- Track bugs and help triage production issues to identify gaps in test coverage.

- Drive initiatives to improve release confidence, regression coverage, and automation health.

- Ensure fintech-specific compliance scenarios (e.g., loan disbursal logic, transaction workflows) are rigorously tested.

- Own the quality metrics and regularly report on the health of the automation suite.

- Be responsible for providing final QA sign-off before any deployment to UAT or production environments.

Must-Have Skills :

- 3+ years of experience in automation testing (backend + frontend).

- Proficiency in tools like Cypress, Postman, RestAssured, or other API testing frameworks.

- Strong knowledge of manual testing practices and bug tracking.

- Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP concepts.

- Knowledge of SQL for validating data integrity and backend processing.

- Experience writing test cases and maintaining test documentation.

- Ability to work in a high-ownership startup culture with minimal supervision.

- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Git, CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-Have :

- Domain knowledge in fintech, especially lending and payments systems.

- Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).

- Experience testing systems with multi-tenant architecture.

- Exposure to compliance and audit requirements in financial applications.
