About the Role :

As an Assistant Lead Automation, Data & Intelligent Systems, you will own database structures, automation workflows, and reporting pipelines, while leading a small team of 23 members.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thinks in systems, data models, and leverage, not just tools or tasks. You will work closely with business teams, identify monotonous or inefficient processes, and convert them into reliable automated systems, with a strong focus on data integrity and long-term scalability.

What you'll Do :

1. Database & Data Architecture (Core Focus) :

- Design and maintain clean, scalable database structures that act as the source of truth

- Make architectural decisions around data normalization, identifiers, historical vs current data

- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and reliability across systems

- Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for operational and analytical use

- Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, or similar

2. Automation & System Design :

- Design, build, and own end-to-end automations across departments

- Identify monotonous, repetitive, or error-prone processes and eliminate them through automation

- Use tools such as n8n, Make.com, Google Apps Script, or equivalent platforms

- Implement error handling, retries, monitoring, and alerts

- Continuously refactor and improve existing automations as scale increases

3. Data Pipelines & Orchestration :

- Build and manage data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Airbyte, or similar

- Use Python for data transformation, validation, and processing

- Integrate systems using APIs and webhooks

- Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost

4. Reporting & Decision Support :

- Build clear, decision-ready dashboards for leadership and teams

- Translate ambiguous business questions into well-defined metrics and KPIs

- Ensure reporting logic is transparent, accurate, and trusted

- Fix data issues at the root level, not just in dashboards

5. Intelligent & AI-Assisted Systems :

- Identify opportunities where AI can augment automation and decision-making (e.g., classification, summarization, prediction, routing)

- Understand the limitations of AI and ensure clean data and guardrails

- Experiment responsibly with AI to improve system effectiveness

6. Team Leadership & Ownership :

- Lead and mentor 2 to 3 team members through guidance, reviews, and prioritization

- Set quality standards for automation, data, and documentation

- Manage multiple requests and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders

- Document systems and decisions for long-term continuity

Requirements :

Must Have :

- Strong understanding of database structures and data modeling

- Advanced SQL skills and relational database fundamentals

- Proven experience building production-grade automations

- Ability to debug, refactor, and own systems end-to-end

- System-thinking mindset (thinks beyond individual tasks)

Good to Have :

- Experience with Python for data processing

- Experience with Airflow, Airbyte, or similar orchestration tools

- Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS)

- Experience with CRMs (LeadSquared, Zoho, or similar)
