Automation Engineer - Selenium/Cypress

Job Summary :

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Automation Engineer to join our quality engineering team.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software releases.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of testing methodologies, scripting, and automation tools who is passionate about delivering stable and scalable test solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, API, or desktop applications.

- Create robust automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Playwright, Postman, or RestAssured.

- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

- Collaborate with QA and development teams to understand testing needs and convert manual test cases into automation.

- Conduct functional, regression, performance, and API testing.

- Analyze test results and report defects, bugs, and performance issues to development teams.

- Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and defect logs.

- Generate and share test coverage and execution reports with stakeholders.

- Ensure traceability between test cases and business/technical requirements.

- Work closely with developers, QA analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure test environments are properly configured.

- Promote test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) practices when appropriate.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation strategies, tools, and processes.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in test automation or software testing roles.

- Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.

- Experience with test automation tools : Selenium, Cypress, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, etc.

- Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.

- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and testing techniques
