Automation Engineer - Java/Selenium/Python

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Selenium, Python, and Playwright. The role involves designing and developing robust test automation frameworks, driving automation strategy, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality releases across complex financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, Python, and Playwright.

- Build reusable automation utilities, libraries, and pipelines for regression, smoke, and API testing.

- Automate test cases for UI, API, backend, and data validation components.

- Integrate test suites with CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitLab/TeamCity).

- Work closely with developers, QA, and business teams to understand requirements and define automation strategy.

- Analyze automation results, debug failures, and provide detailed defect reports.

- Maintain version control, branching, and code reviews using Git.

- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, coding standards, and testing best practices.

Required Skills :

- Strong programming skills in Java (Collections, OOP, Streams, Test Frameworks).

- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, and automation frameworks.

- Strong scripting & automation utility development using Python.

- Experience in Playwright for web automation (Java or Python).

- Good understanding of API testing (REST, Postman, RestAssured, HTTP validations).

- Experience with CI/CD : Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.

- Knowledge of Maven/Gradle, Git, and version control workflows.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Good to Have :

- Experience in financial domain or investment operations.

- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

- Exposure to containerization Docker.

- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter/K6) is a plus.
