Job Description : Data Analyst Credit Risk (5+ Years)

Role Purpose :

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst specializing in Credit Risk to support the development, validation, and monitoring of credit risk models. The role involves working closely with Risk, Business, and Technology teams to enhance data-driven decision-making through statistical modeling and analytics.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement Credit Risk Acquisition Scorecards and support model lifecycle management.

- Perform data analysis, feature engineering, and model development using statistical techniques.

- Build, validate, and monitor risk models to ensure accuracy, stability, and compliance.

- Utilize Python or SAS for data extraction, transformation, and predictive modeling.

- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and risk indicators.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Risk, Business, IT) to translate requirements into analytical solutions.

- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal risk policies.

- Prepare model documentation, validation reports, and presentations for stakeholders.

- Continuously improve models and processes based on evolving business and regulatory needs.

Relevant Experience :

- 5 to 8 years of experience in Data Analytics / Credit Risk Analytics.

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in credit risk modelling within a Bank/NBFC.

- Proven experience in statistical modelling and scorecard development.

- Experience in retail credit risk (acquisition/underwriting models) is preferred.

Educational Qualification :

- Bachelors / Masters degree from Tier 1 / Tier 2 institutes (NIT, IIIT, Government Engineering Colleges, VIT, Manipal, etc.)

- Preferred specializations : Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related fields.

Skills & Competencies :

- Strong proficiency in Python or SAS (mandatory).

- Knowledge of statistical modelling techniques (Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, etc.).

- Hands-on experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, etc.).

- Understanding of credit risk frameworks and banking products.

- Exposure to model validation, monitoring, and governance processes.

- Ability to handle large datasets and complex analytical problems.
