Assurant - Data Scientist - SQL/Python

Job description :

Role : Data Scientist Assurant (GCC India), Bangalore

The Data Scientist is responsible for using analytical techniques to solve complex business problems. This role will work alongside senior team members to leverage machine learning tools that advance Assurants business. The Data Scientist will present findings to the business and must be comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights

- Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models for business use cases

- Create impactful visualizations, reports, and presentations for stakeholders

- Translate analytical findings into clear business recommendations

- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams on data initiatives

- Work on end-to-end project execution including data extraction, modeling, and communication

- Contribute to development of scalable analytics solutions and frameworks

Technical Skills :

- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, R, or similar tools

- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel

- Knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data modeling

- Exposure to big data tools (Hadoop/Spark) is a plus

Requirements :

- 2-5 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related field

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience translating data insights into business recommendations

- Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in insurance or financial services domain

- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks, etc.)

- Strong communication and data storytelling abilities

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
