Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director in Data Warehousing to lead the design and implementation of cloud-based data warehousing solutions.

The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with expertise in building scalable, efficient, and secure data warehousing solutions on platforms like AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake.

You will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring high-quality data delivery, and optimizing warehouse performance while collaborating with stakeholders to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Architect and Design Cloud-Based Data Warehousing Solutions :

- Lead the design and architecture of scalable and high-performance data warehousing solutions on cloud platforms (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)

- Ensure the architecture aligns with business needs while maintaining optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

- Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Ensure that technical solutions meet business expectations and are aligned with strategic goals.

Team Management & Leadership :

- Manage a team of engineers and provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

- Oversee day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring high productivity and efficient use of resources.

- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.

Data Modeling & ETL Processes :

- Implement best practices for data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data governance to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

- Lead the design and optimization of ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into the warehouse.

Data Quality and Integrity :

- Ensure that the data warehouse is accurate, consistent, and compliant with data governance policies.

- Oversee data validation, cleansing, and error-handling processes to maintain high data quality.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization :

- Monitor the performance of the data warehouse and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.

- Implement strategies for performance optimization, including query tuning and resource management.

Security and Compliance :

- Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls and encryption.

- Ensure compliance with internal and external data governance and security standards.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement :

- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in cloud data warehousing and proactively recommend improvements.

- Lead efforts to innovate and introduce new tools, technologies, or practices to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the data warehouse.

Key Requirements :

Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

Experience :

- Minimum 7 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data warehousing solutions.

- Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake is required.

- Proven track record of leading teams and driving technical projects from inception to completion.

Skills :

Technical Expertise :

- Strong understanding of data modeling principles and experience with data modeling tools.

- Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools and processes.

Team Leadership :

- Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring teams, including hiring and performance management.

Problem Solving & Analytical Skills :

- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical abilities for resolving complex technical issues.

Communication :

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications :

- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Cloud Architect are a plus.
