Role Overview :
We are looking for an experienced SQL Database and C# Developer to manage and enhance existing database systems and internal web applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining SQL Server databases, automating data workflows using C# (in place of SSIS), and managing Synchrony's internal dashboard site developed on C#. This role demands strong technical depth, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain existing SQL Server databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and security
- Perform database administration, including table management, data integrity, and optimization
- Develop and maintain C# code to automate data ingestion and processing from multiple data sources (replacing SSIS workflows)
- Manage and enhance the internal C#-based dashboard web application hosted on Synchrony's internal platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy new data-driven features and reporting capabilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues across database and application layers
- Ensure best practices in code quality, version control, and deployment processes
- Work within a complex technical environment, handling multiple systems and integration points
Must-Have Skills :
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (database design, optimization, and administration)
- Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework/Core development
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
- Solid understanding of database management, stored procedures, triggers, and data integrity principles
- Ability to work in complex, multi-system environments with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have) :
- Experience developing internal web applications or dashboards in C#/.NET
- Familiarity with data automation, ETL design, or API integrations using C#
- Exposure to enterprise environments or financial services domain
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS) and CI/CD practices
