Job Description

Job Purpose :


We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and technically adept Workday Integration Assistant Manager to join our leadership team within the Workday practice.
In this key role, you will be responsible for leading complex Workday integration projects, managing project streams, overseeing technical teams, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure integration solutions.
You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing architectural guidance, driving best practices, and acting as a primary technical liaison with clients and senior stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities :



Integration Project Leadership & Management :


- Lead the planning, design, development, testing, and deployment phases of complex, large-scale Workday integration projects.

- Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets for integration workstreams, ensuring successful delivery.

- Oversee and mentor a team of Workday Integration Consultants and Associate Consultants, fostering their technical growth and project contributions.



Advanced Integration Architecture & Design :


- Define and design sophisticated Workday integration architectures, considering scalability, performance, security, and future maintainability.


- Provide expert guidance on the optimal use of Workday Studio, EIBs, Cloud Connectors, PECI,

and Workday APIs for various business requirements.

- Drive the adoption of integration best practices, coding standards, and design patterns.



Complex Troubleshooting & Optimization :


- Act as the escalation point for complex integration issues, performing deep-dive root cause analysis and implementing strategic, long-term resolutions.

- Proactively identify and address integration performance bottlenecks, optimizing existing solutions for efficiency and reliability.



Technical Quality Assurance & Governance :


- Review and approve integration designs, code, and test plans, ensuring adherence to

architectural standards and quality gates.

- Implement and enforce integration governance policies and security best practices (e.g., data encryption, authentication methods).



Client & Stakeholder Management :


- Serve as a primary technical advisor to clients and senior stakeholders, understanding their

strategic needs and translating them into comprehensive integration solutions.

- Present complex technical concepts and project updates clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive levels.

- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with client IT and business leadership.



Innovation & Thought Leadership :


- Stay current with the latest Workday integration features, emerging technologies, and industry trends.

- Contribute to the development of new integration service offerings, accelerators, and thought

leadership within the Workday practice.

- Drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.



Required Skills & Qualifications :


- Experience : 7 - 8 years of extensive experience in IT, with 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on

experience in Workday Integrations.

- Workday Integration Mastery : Expert-level proficiency in Workday Studio for custom

integration development.

- Deep expertise in EIBs, Cloud Connectors (CCM, CCW, PECI), and all aspects of Workday Web

Services (APIs) (REST, SOAP).

- Advanced Data Transformation : Exceptional proficiency in XSLT for complex data mapping

and transformations.

- Strong command of XML, JSON, XPATH, and other data exchange formats.

- Functional Depth : Strong understanding of multiple Workday functional areas (e.g., HCM,

Payroll, Benefits, Financials, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation) to design cross-

functional integrations.

- Integration Methodologies : Proven experience leading integration workstreams within large-

scale Workday implementations following Agile or Hybrid methodologies.

- Problem-Solving & Architecture : Excellent analytical, architectural, and advanced problem-

solving skills, capable of designing and implementing highly scalable and robust integration

solutions.

- Communication & Presentation : Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a

demonstrated ability to effectively present to and influence senior clients and stakeholders.

- Leadership & Mentorship : Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team

of integration consultants.

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related

technical field.

- Certifications : Active and advanced Workday Integrations certification(s) are highly preferred.

- Additional Workday functional and/or architectural certifications are a significant plus.



Nice to Have :


- Experience with other enterprise integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, SAP CPI,

TIBCO).

- Exposure to Workday Extend.

- Familiarity with security concepts like SAML, OAuth 2.0, SSL/TLS, PGP encryption.


- Experience in pre-sales support or solutioning for integration projects.
