Job Summary :

Role Overview :

The AGM/Director - Data Management will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to large-scale data management initiatives across the organization.

The role involves overseeing the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data governance, quality, architecture, integration, and engineering.

The ideal candidate will have a strong enterprise data management background, proven leadership in managing large distributed teams, and hands-on knowledge of data technologies and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Strategy :

- Lead and manage a large team (75+ members) of data professionals, including team leads, project managers, and engineers.

- Define the vision and roadmap for data management initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

- Collaborate closely with the India Data Practice Head and US Data Leadership to ensure global alignment of strategy and delivery.

- Drive innovation and adoption of modern data management practices across business units.

- Establish frameworks for performance management, capacity planning, and talent development within the data team.

Data Management & Delivery :

- Oversee delivery of enterprise data programs covering data governance, data quality, data integration (ETL), and data architecture.

- Ensure adherence to enterprise data management standards and policies across all data initiatives.

- Manage the complete data lifecycle - from ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics enablement to data governance.

- Lead implementation and optimization of data platforms on Azure or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

- Oversee the design and management of data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines (using Informatica and other tools).

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

- Partner with business stakeholders, technology leaders, and governance teams to ensure data initiatives meet organizational priorities.

- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on data strategy, architecture, and operations.

- Facilitate effective communication between offshore and onshore teams to ensure seamless execution.

Operational & People Management :

- Manage team operations, budgets, and project delivery timelines.

- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability within the data organization.

- Drive initiatives for hiring, mentoring, and retaining top data talent.

- Monitor and enhance operational efficiency and delivery quality.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

- Certifications in Data Management, Cloud Platforms (Azure/OCI), or Informatica preferred.

- Exposure to Agile methodologies and data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
