Ashtech - L2 CommVault Backup Engineer - VMware/Hyper-V

Description :

- Install and administer Comm Serve, Media Agents & client agents

- Perform complex recoveries : BMR, P2V, V2V, application-level restores

- Manage VMware / Hyper-V backups using VSA & VProxy

- Troubleshoot backup failures, performance bottlenecks, and error logs

- Handle patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance of the backup environment

- Collaborate with Commvault support for escalated issues

- Support DR planning, execution & periodic restore test cycles

- Guide and mentor L1 engineers to ensure operational excellence

What Were Looking For :

- Strong knowledge of Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery

- Hands-on experience with VSA, VProxy, virtualization backups

- Application backup proficiency : SQL, Oracle, Active Directory, File Servers

- Experience in storage policy, DDB & disk library management

- Knowledge of AWS S3 / Azure Blob for cloud-based backup integrations

- Strong log analysis & RCA skills

- Understanding of network basics (ports, firewall, latency)

Good to Have :

- Commvault Certification (Professional / Specialist)

- Exposure to Metallic SaaS backup

- Knowledge of ransomware protection and immutable backups

- Experience in DR & compliance frameworks
