Role Overview :
We are looking for a hands-on .NET/C# Engineer to assess and optimize a healthcare payer claims batch-processing environment. The role involves analyzing Tidal-orchestrated jobs, .NET applications, and SQL Server stored procedures to establish performance baselines, identify bottlenecks, and develop an evidence-based remediation roadmap. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with complex legacy systems, large batch environments, and limited documentation.
Responsibilities :
- Trace batch jobs to their associated stored procedures, execution steps, and dependencies.
- Build job-to-procedure-to-step lineage maps to improve visibility into batch processing.
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks using SQL Server Query Store, DMVs, execution plans, scheduler history, and Splunk.
- Review .NET/C# applications and SQL Server stored procedures to identify optimization opportunities.
- Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate code reviews and analysis while independently validating findings.
- Recommend whether jobs should be retained, optimized, consolidated, or retired.
- Establish performance baselines, maintain a hotspot inventory, prioritize remediation activities, and develop a 12 - 18 month optimization roadmap.
Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience in .NET/C# development and SQL Server.
- Strong experience with applications that rely heavily on SQL Server stored procedures.
- Hands-on experience with Tidal, Control-M, AutoSys, or similar batch scheduling tools.
- Expertise in SQL Server Query Store, Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), and execution-plan analysis.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT.
- Ability to analyze complex legacy systems, troubleshoot performance issues, and work with limited documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Experience in US healthcare payer or claims processing, Splunk or similar observability tools, rules engines, event-driven processing, or Microsoft Azure is preferred.
