What you'll do

- Own the Cloud : Design, build, and maintain our core infrastructure on AWS, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure from the ground up.

- Automate Everything : Lead the automation of our infrastructure provisioning (Terraform), configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket pipelines) to improve developer velocity and system reliability.

- Champion Reliability & Performance : Define and manage SLOs/SLIs for critical services. Lead initiatives to improve system performance, conduct proactive capacity planning, and optimize our observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

- Strengthen Security : Implement and evangelize DevSecOps best practices, including vulnerability scanning, secret management, and IAM policies, to secure our entire development lifecycle.

- Mentor and Lead : Act as a force multiplier by mentoring other engineers, establishing DevOps best practices across the organization, and improving our incident management processes.

- Optimize for Cost : Proactively monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization to ensure we are building cost-efficiently.

- Reliability : System uptime, SLO adherence, and a reduction in Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR).

- Velocity : Improved deployment frequency and reduced lead time for changes.

- Efficiency : Measurable cloud cost savings and improvements in developer productivity.

- Security : A demonstrable improvement in our security posture and a reduction in identified vulnerabilities.

- Influence : Wide adoption of best practices and tools you introduce; successful mentorship of other engineers.

You'll thrive if you :

- Think in systems and have a deep intuition for how distributed systems fail.

- Possess a strong "automate everything" mindset and a bias for action.

- Can effectively balance long-term architectural strategy with short-term tactical needs.

- Excel at communicating complex infrastructure trade-offs to developers and product managers.

Qualifications :

- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering role.

- Deep expertise with a major cloud provider (AWS or GCP), including core services like VPC, IAM, EC2/GCE, and managed databases.

- Expert-level proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.

- Extensive experience designing, building, and managing complex CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

- Strong, hands-on knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) in production environments.

- Proven experience with observability tools : Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, etc.

- Proficiency in a scripting language like Python, Go, or Bash.

Nice to have : Experience with service mesh (e.g., Istio), advanced database administration (Postgres), building internal developer platforms (IDPs), or security certifications.
