Aptly Technology - Lead SQL Server Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage SQL Server administration and operational support across enterprise environments

- Handle reactive and critical production incidents, including performance degradation, outages, and security issues

- Design, implement, and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions such as Failover Clustering and Always On Availability Groups

- Perform SQL Server migrations, upgrades, installations, patching, and maintenance

- Troubleshoot and optimize SQL Server performance, including query tuning, indexing, and resource utilization

- Manage SQL Server security, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and compliance controls

- Develop and execute clear action plans during incidents and ensure follow-up through to closure

- Lead technical escalations and provide expert-level problem resolution

- Collaborate closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders

- Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to team capability building

- Ensure SQL Server environments follow best practices and operational standards

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 10+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments

- Strong understanding of SQL Server fundamentals, core engine architecture, and internal workings

- Advanced expertise in Performance Tuning, HA/DR (Failover Clustering, Always On AGs)

- Extensive experience with SQL Server migration, upgrade, setup, and patching

- Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience in reactive production scenarios

- Solid knowledge of SQL Server security, maintenance, and monitoring

- Working knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Azure Data Services

- Well-versed with SQL Server version evolution and feature enhancements

- Strong technical leadership and escalation management capabilities

- Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, application owners, and senior leadership

- Proven experience collaborating across internal and external teams

- Highly proactive, accountable, and delivery-focused mindset

- Ability to contribute immediately with minimal or no ramp-up time

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working in large-scale, mission-critical production environments

- Exposure to hybrid or cloud-based SQL Server deployments on Azure
