About the Role :
We are looking for a highly skilled Application Support Engineer with hands-on experience in SWIFT Alliance Access/Warehouse applications and strong exposure to FIN, FileAct, InterAct, and SWIFTNet infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of L1/L2 support mechanisms, system health monitoring, patching, and SWIFT security and compliance practices including SWIFT CSP and SOX. This role involves critical ownership of incident resolution, system upgrades, connectivity, and compliance while ensuring high availability and secure message processing within financial messaging systems.
Key Responsibilities :
SWIFT Application Monitoring & Support :
- Monitor and provide end-to-end support for SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), and SWIFT Alliance Warehouse applications.
- Manage SWIFT messaging flows including FIN, FileAct, and InterAct, ensuring timely processing and delivery.
- Perform daily system health checks, transaction queue monitoring, and proactive remediation of message rejections, delays, or failures.
- Provide L1/L2 support for incident tickets, alerts, message discrepancies, and application-level errors.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting :
- Analyze and resolve production issues related to SWIFTNet connectivity, VPN tunnels, TLS/SSL certificate failures, PKI issues, and firewall configurations.
- Escalate and coordinate with SWIFT support, internal network/security teams, or external partners for complex issues.
- Manage SWIFT infrastructure failures or disruptions by following established BCP (Business Continuity Plans) and DR (Disaster Recovery) protocols.
Configuration Management & Upgrades :
- Perform system configuration changes including BIC mapping, message routing rules, channel setups, and security settings.
- Apply vendor patches, perform version upgrades, and maintain test environments in alignment with SWIFT release cycles.
- Maintain and rotate certificates (e.g., PKI, HSM integration) and authentication mechanisms in compliance with SWIFT CSP guidelines.
Security, Compliance & Documentation :
- Implement and ensure adherence to SWIFT CSP (Customer Security Programme) controls across all SWIFT-connected applications.
- Support periodic SOX, ITGC, and internal/external audits by providing detailed evidence of controls, user access reviews, and system configurations.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of system architecture, incident logs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance reports.
Integration & Coordination :
- Coordinate with upstream/downstream applications such as core banking, payment switches, AML, or fraud detection systems to ensure accurate reconciliation and timely message exchange.
- Validate end-to-end message delivery, implement retry strategies, and track acknowledgments for business-critical transactions.
Required Technical Skills :
- Proven experience supporting SWIFT Alliance Access/Gateway/Warehouse solutions.
- In-depth understanding of SWIFT message types (FIN, FileAct, InterAct) and SWIFTNet protocols.
- Hands-on expertise in TLS, VPN, firewall troubleshooting, and PKI infrastructure.
- Familiarity with DR drills, BCP plans, and system recovery testing.
- Experience in message queue monitoring, processing flow analysis, and error reconciliation.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with SWIFT CSP compliance framework and related audit activities.
- Working knowledge of integration with financial systems (e.g., payment gateways, CBS, RTGS, AML).
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance mandates including SOX, ISO 27001, and ITGC controls.
- Strong scripting or automation skills for health checks and monitoring will be an added advantage.
