Application Tech Support Practitioner

Location : Ahmedabad, India

Experience : 3-5 years

Educational Qualification : 15 years of full-time education (Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred)

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Tech Support Practitioner with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Python.

The ideal candidate will be a technical problem-solver capable of working independently to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues.

You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for our core applications, collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure high availability and performance.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Incident Management and Resolution : Independently triage, analyze, and resolve production incidents using logs, monitoring tools, and application code analysis.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Conduct detailed root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes or workarounds.

Python Scripting and Automation : Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate routine tasks, perform data validation, and enhance support processes.

Collaboration : Actively participate in team discussions, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve support practices.

Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for supported applications.

Mentorship : Provide guidance and training to junior team members on technical issues and best practices.

Professional and Technical Skills

Must-Have Skills :

- Proficiency in Python : Strong experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing Python code.

- Familiarity with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or requests is a plus.

- Linux/Unix : Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting (Bash), file system navigation, and system commands for monitoring and troubleshooting.

- Database Skills : Experience with SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) to perform data queries, analysis, and manipulation.

- Problem-Solving and Debugging : Advanced debugging skills with the ability to analyze application logs, stack traces, and system metrics to pinpoint issues.

- CI/CD & DevOps Concepts : Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and tools for deployment and monitoring.

- API Knowledge : Experience with RESTful APIs, including understanding request/response cycles and using tools like Postman or cURL for testing and troubleshooting.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Cloud Platforms : Familiarity with cloud services from AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Monitoring Tools : Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana, or Prometheus.

- Version Control : Hands-on experience with Git for source code management.

- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
