Application/Production Support Engineer - Linux/Unix

We're Hiring : Application/Production Support Engineer (Contract)

Are you an experienced Application/Production Support Engineer with strong expertise in Linux/Unix, Oracle, and WebLogic? We're looking for a contractor to join our team and support critical enterprise applications in a high-availability environment.

What Youll Do :

- Provide Level 2/3 support for enterprise applications in production.

- Troubleshoot issues across Linux/Unix, WebLogic, and Oracle environments.

- Monitor application and system health; respond to incidents and outages.

- Collaborate with development, database, and infrastructure teams for deployments, fixes, and upgrades.

- Drive root cause analysis and improve system stability.

- Write/maintain automation scripts (Shell, Python, etc.).

- Document support processes and knowledge base entries.

What Were Looking For :

- 6+ years in Application/Production Support roles.

- Strong in Linux/Unix command-line and shell scripting.

- Proven experience with Oracle DB (SQL, tuning, troubleshooting).

- Hands-on with WebLogic Application Server.

- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, Nagios, OEM, etc.).

- Knowledge of incident & change management (ITIL practices).

- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with job schedulers (e.g., Autosys, Control-M).

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (AWS/OCI), or containerization.

- Scripting experience beyond shell (Python/Perl a plus).
