Role Overview :

As an Application Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of application packaging, from initial assessment and design to deployment and maintenance. You will collaborate closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders to ensure seamless and secure application delivery across the enterprise. Your expertise will be crucial in standardizing application packaging processes, automating deployments, and resolving complex application compatibility issues, ultimately enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement standardized application packaging processes using MSI, App-V, and other relevant technologies to ensure consistent and reliable deployments.

- Package and virtualize applications for deployment through SCCM, ensuring compatibility with various operating systems and hardware configurations to minimize deployment failures.

- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating application installations, configurations, and updates to streamline deployment processes and reduce manual effort.

- Troubleshoot and resolve application deployment issues, including conflicts, dependencies, and compatibility problems, to ensure minimal disruption to end-users.

- Collaborate with application owners and security teams to ensure applications are packaged and deployed in compliance with security policies and best practices to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.

- Document application packaging processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to create a comprehensive knowledge base for future reference and support.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest application packaging technologies and trends to continuously improve packaging processes and methodologies.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement application packaging solutions using MSI, App-V, and other industry-standard technologies.

- Proven expertise in using SCCM for application deployment, software updates, and operating system deployment.

- Proficient in developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts for automating application installations, configurations, and troubleshooting tasks.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex application deployment issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with application owners, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
