Appian Architect - BPM Solutions

Description :

- Design and architect scalable and robust Appian BPM solutions aligning with business and technical requirements.

- Provide technical leadership and best practices across Appian implementations, integrations, and workflow frameworks.

- Develop high-level and detailed solution architecture documents, process flows, and technical specifications.

- Diagnose and resolve workflow termination issues, ensuring exceptions are handled correctly without memory blockage.

- Investigate and fix JDBC exceptions related to workflows triggering stored procedures.

- Analyze and resolve database deadlocks, optimizing queries, stored procedures, and concurrency patterns.

- Optimize Appian application performance, including memory usage, disk space utilization, and resource consumption.

- Implement monitoring mechanisms to proactively detect and prevent workflow failures or system bottlenecks.

- Architect and maintain integrations between Appian and external systems (APIs, databases, legacy systems).

- Collaborate with DBAs to optimize database schema, queries, and procedures used by Appian workflows.

- Ensure seamless interaction between Appian applications and underlying databases while maintaining transaction integrity.

- Establish Appian development standards, governance, reusable components, and coding best practices.

- Conduct architecture reviews, performance assessments, and code quality checks.

- Drive continuous improvement in Appian application lifecycle, deployment processes, and environment management.

- Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to translate business needs into Appian solutions.

- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to Appian developers and consultants.

- Communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience working with Appian BPM in architecture, design, and development roles.

- Strong expertise in Appian architecture, process modeling, records, interfaces, and integrations.

- Hands-on experience resolving workflow exceptions, memory issues, JDBC errors, and system performance problems.

- Solid understanding of SQL, stored procedures, database optimization, and deadlock resolution.

- Strong knowledge of Appian plug-ins, smart services, Appian objects, and Appian Administrator Console.

- Experience with Appian environment management, deployments, version control, and DevOps processes.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving Appian, databases, and integration layers.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Appian Level 2 or Level 3 certification.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for Appian deployments.

- Knowledge of Java for custom plug-in development.

- Exposure to performance engineering, monitoring tools, and logging frameworks.

- Experience working in Agile development environments
