APIGEE and Middleware Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced APIGEE and Middleware Architect to join our team. This is a fully remote position for candidates located in India, working within the UK time zone. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable API and integration solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design and architect enterprise-level API and integration solutions using APIGEE and various middleware platforms.

- Lead the development of API gateways, proxies, and policies on the APIGEE platform (Edge, Hybrid, or X).

- Define and enforce API governance, security, and lifecycle management best practices.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and other architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve our integration landscape.

- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and provide timely resolutions.

- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and performant.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- 10-12+ years of experience in software development and architecture, with a focus on API and middleware technologies.

- Proven experience as an API Architect with strong, hands-on expertise in APIGEE (Edge, Hybrid, or X).

- Deep understanding and practical experience with middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM Integration Bus, Oracle SOA Suite, or WSO2.

- Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including a deep understanding of security protocols like OAuth2.0 and JWT.

- Strong knowledge of API security, rate limiting, and traffic management.

- Solid background in various integration patterns, message queuing, service orchestration, and event-driven architecture.

- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Excellent communication, articulation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions for complex integration scenarios.

- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- APIGEE certification (Architect or Developer level).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps for API deployment.

- Exposure to modern integration technologies such as GraphQL, gRPC, or Kafka.

- Prior experience in the banking, healthcare, or telecom domains.
