About the Role :

We are looking for an APIC Developer with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower.

The role involves designing, developing, securing, and managing APIs along with integrating internal and external applications using multiple protocols and data formats.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, configure, and manage APIs using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower

- Design, develop, and maintain microservices and API integrations

- Implement and manage API lifecycle processes including creation, publishing, and deployment

- Configure API security policies and implement best practices

- Work with REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and other data formats for system integration

- Perform installation, configuration, and customization of API Connect and Developer Portal

- Implement services such as MPGW, WAF, WebServiceProxy, and XML Firewall in DataPower

- Conduct backup, restore, and maintenance of API Connect configurations and assets

- Integrate APIs with external user registries and identity services

- Develop gateway scripts, user-defined policies, and error-handling mechanisms

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable API solutions

- Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure high system reliability

Required Skillsets :

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataPower Gateway

- Practical experience with IBM API Connect for API development and management

- Good understanding of microservices and OpenAPI specifications

- Knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, XPath, XQuery, and XML Schema

- Experience in API security, policies, and integration patterns

- Ability to design and customize Developer Portal

- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills

- Strong understanding of API lifecycle management

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Enthusiastic, organized, creative, and flexible mindset

Qualifications :

- BE in IT or equivalent
