API Tester - Software Quality Assurance

Job Title : API Tester (Automation | Kafka | OpenShift)

- Location : Hyderabad, Pune, Gurgaon

- Experience : 5- 7 Years

About the Role :

We are hiring an API Tester with strong experience in automation, Kafka-based systems, and cloud-native environments. The role involves testing RESTful APIs, validating Kafka message workflows, and working in containerized platforms like OpenShift/Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and execute automated functional and performance tests for REST APIs.

- Validate Kafka messaging workflows (producer ? consumer).

- Work in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments with microservices.

- Use tools such as Postman, JMeter, custom automation frameworks.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

- Debug and validate using ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).

- Report, track defects and contribute to improving QA strategy.

Must-Have Skills :

- 5 - 7 years of API Testing & Automation experience.

- Strong expertise in REST API functional & performance testing.

- Hands-on with Kafka (end-to-end message validation).

- Cloud/container platforms : OpenShift or Kubernetes.

- Tools : Postman, JMeter, Git.

- CI/CD tools : Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps.

- Log analysis with ELK stack.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Contract testing (Pact, Postman Contract Testing).

- Scripting (Python, JavaScript, Shell).

- Understanding of microservices & distributed systems.

- Knowledge of test management tools.
