API Tester - Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled API Tester to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our high-performing APIs. Location : Pune/Nagpur (Office Location)

Experience : 10+ years

Duration : Full Time

Working Hours : UK time shift

Notice Period : Immediate or 30 Days

Key Responsibilities

As an API Tester, you will be responsible for :

- Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive API test plans and test cases.

- Performing load testing and performance testing to ensure APIs meet stringent business SLAs.

- Utilizing various API testing tools to ensure robust and efficient API functionality.

- Collaborating closely with development teams (frontend and backend) to facilitate seamless API integration and data exchange.

- Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs and issues, working with developers for timely resolution.

- Optimizing APIs for improved performance and scalability.

- Contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

- Recommending infrastructure improvements based on technical familiarity with the stack.

Required Skills & Experience (Must Have) :

To be successful in this role, you must possess :

Technical Expertise :

- Strong proficiency in Python Programming.

- Extensive experience with FAST API.

- In-depth understanding and practical experience with Caching mechanisms (including Redis and in-memory caching).

- Proficiency in using Swagger UI for checking API endpoints and facilitating data exchange with frontend systems.

- Proven experience in developing and testing high-performing APIs that consistently meet defined business Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

- Hands-on experience with Azure for API hosting and deployment.

- Familiarity with CI/CD implementation, GIT, and Bitbucket.

- Demonstrated ability to optimize APIs for improved performance.

- Technical familiarity with the overall stack to effectively recommend infrastructure improvements.

API Testing Tools :

- Expertise in using Postman.

- Strong experience with REST Assured.

- Proficiency in SoapUI.

Desirable Skills

While not mandatory, candidates with the following skills will be highly regarded :

- Experience with Plotly library structure for pictorial presentation of data.

- Experience with Databricks and strong database and schema knowledge.

Soft Skills

We are looking for a professional who demonstrates :

- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts clearly.

- Strong negotiation skills when interacting with highly technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
