Role Overview :

The API Tester will be responsible for functional, automation, and performance testing of API web services. The role involves developing automated test scripts, ensuring API reliability, conducting performance testing, and analyzing logs using Splunk.

Key Responsibilities :

- Functional Testing : Validate API requests, responses, and data integrity.

- Automation Testing : Develop and maintain automated API test scripts using Postman, JMeter, Java, and Groovy.

- Performance Testing :

1. Design and execute JMeter-based load/stress/scalability tests.

2. Understanding of Kubernetes, Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and Microservices architecture.

3. End-to-end performance testing : strategy creation, scripting, execution, monitoring, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and reporting.

- Log Analysis : Utilize Splunk for API log monitoring, error detection, and performance optimization.

- Defect Management : Log and manage defects using JIRA or HP ALM.

- Test Data Management : Handle proper setup and management of test data for API validation.

- Reporting : Use reporting tools like Grafana to create performance and defect reports.

- Database Validation : Hands-on with SQL/PostgreSQL for backend data verification and validation.

Required Skill Set :

- 510 years of overall experience in QA Testing.

- 4+ years hands-on experience in API testing and automation using Postman and JMeter.

- Proficiency in Java and Groovy for test scripting.

- Strong understanding of JWT (JSON Web Tokens).

- Expertise in performance testing with JMeter, covering load, stress, and scalability scenarios.

- Experience with Splunk for log analysis.

- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and microservices.

- Good knowledge of databases (SQL/PostgreSQL) for data validation.

- Exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is a plus.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with MuleSoft API testing.

- Familiarity with Grafana dashboards for monitoring and reporting.
