About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced API Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in REST Assured, Selenium (Java), and test automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable automation solutions for web applications and APIs, along with a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality engineering best practices.

This role requires close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for API and web application testing.

- Develop automated test scripts using REST Assured, Java, and Selenium WebDriver.

- Validate RESTful APIs, including request/response verification, authentication, schema validation, and error handling.

- Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test automation suites.

- Develop reusable automation components and improve test framework scalability and maintainability.

- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.

- Perform defect analysis, root cause identification, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.

- Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, estimation, and code reviews.

- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, automation reports, and technical documentation.

- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices across the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- 7-12 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.

- Strong hands-on experience with REST Assured for API automation testing.

- Expertise in Selenium WebDriver using Java.

- Strong programming skills in Java with experience developing automation frameworks.

- Experience with API testing tools such as ReadyAPI, Postman, or Swagger.

- Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth, JWT, and HTTP protocols.

- Experience integrating automation suites with Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Defect Life Cycle, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA.

- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
