Job Title: API Architect

Location: Navi Mumbai (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced API Architect to lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise-wide API solutions. The ideal candidate will define the organization's API strategy, establish technical standards, and build secure, scalable, and high-performance API architectures that enable seamless integration across applications and services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and implement the organization's API vision, architecture, and roadmap.

- Establish API governance, technical standards, and best practices across development teams.

- Design scalable, secure, and reliable RESTful and event-driven API architectures.

- Architect microservices-based solutions for enterprise applications.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and development teams to gather requirements and translate them into API solutions.

- Evaluate existing API ecosystems and recommend architectural improvements.

- Ensure APIs meet security, scalability, availability, and performance requirements.

- Define API versioning, lifecycle management, and documentation standards.

- Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical presentations.

- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teams.

- Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and API deployments.

- Stay current with emerging API technologies, cloud platforms, and industry best practices.

Required Skills :

- Strong expertise in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and API design principles.

- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Knowledge of API gateways such as Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, or AWS API Gateway.

- Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS, and API security.

- Experience with integration platforms and enterprise service buses (ESB).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience :

- Minimum 5+ years of overall software development experience.

- At least 2+ years of experience in API architecture or enterprise integration.

- Experience designing enterprise-scale API ecosystems.

- Exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Educational Qualifications :

- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.

- OR MCA, M.Tech, or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university.

- MBA is desirable but not mandatory.

Preferred Certifications :

- IBM Integration Certification.

- MuleSoft Certified Developer or Architect.

- TOGAF Certification.

- AWS/Azure Solution Architect Certification (preferred).
