Job Title : Solution Architect - Healthcare

Job Location : Any Apexon locations in India (Ahmedabad / Bangalore / Chennai / Hyderabad / Pune / Mumbai)

Employment Type : Permeant | Hybrid

Domain- Healthcare

Qualification :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS / Azure / GCP Solution Architect, or HITRUST Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP) are highly desirable.

- Minimum 10 years of experience, with 2+ years of experience as an Architect in the Healthcare domain.

Role Overview :

We are looking for a skilled and visionary Solution Architect with extensive experience in designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications in the healthcare domain.

This role demands deep domain knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks (such as HIPAA and HL7), along with strong technical expertise in cloud architecture, enterprise security, and healthcare interoperability.

You will play a central role in crafting high-performance, compliant, and scalable solutions that drive digital transformation for healthcare providers, payers, and health tech platforms.

Required Skills :

Healthcare Domain Expertise :

- Strong knowledge of EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts).

- Familiarity with clinical workflows, patient engagement, and care management systems.

- Experience working with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/C-CDA, and X12.

- Understanding of payer systems, claims management, and provider networks.

- Compliance expertise with HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST.

- Experience with clinical data analytics and patient data modeling.

- EPIC or other EMR integration certification is a plus.

Enterprise Application Architecture :

- Deep experience designing mission-critical, distributed applications.

- Expertise in architecture patterns including microservices, service mesh, event-driven, and domain-driven design (DDD).

- Knowledge of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), integration middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi), and APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).

- Hands-on experience defining Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) such as scalability, availability, and performance.

Cloud Platforms & Infrastructure :

- Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Cloud-native application design using serverless, Kubernetes, and managed services.

- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

- Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and hybrid cloud strategies.

- Experience designing for cloud resilience, failover, and disaster recovery (DR).

Security Architecture :

- Strong grasp of security principles in healthcare (PHI, PII, HIPAA compliance).

- Experience implementing secure APIs and encrypted data transmission.

- Proficiency with IAM, KMS, VPNs, WAFs, and endpoint security solutions.

- Understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.

- Expertise in data encryption at rest and in transit, tokenization, and PII/PCI handling.

Data, AI/ML & Integration :

- Experience designing data pipelines and clinical data lakes.

- Familiarity with healthcare analytics, predictive modeling, and AI/ML use cases.

- Exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, and BigQuery.

- Integration experience with third-party partners, IoT medical devices, and mobile health applications.

DevOps & Observability :

- CI/CD pipeline implementation using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog.

- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

- Ability to lead performance tuning, fault tolerance testing, and release management.

Soft Skills & Technical Leadership

- Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and conducting architecture reviews.

- Ability to mentor development and DevOps teams on design principles and best practices.

- Strong capability to balance technical feasibility, clinical usability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own and drive end-to-end solution architecture for large-scale healthcare platforms and applications.

- Collaborate with business, product, clinical, and engineering teams to translate functional and regulatory requirements into technical designs.

- Define reference architectures, data flows, integration blueprints, and security postures.

- Lead technical governance, including architecture reviews, design decisions, and solution sign-offs.

- Guide engineering teams on technology choices, frameworks, and implementation best practices.

- Ensure interoperability with legacy and third-party systems using standards such as FHIR and HL7.

- Stay updated on emerging technologies, healthcare IT trends, and regulatory changes to drive innovation.

- Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal leadership on platform modernization and digital health transformation.
