Senior Python Backend Developer GenAI

Job Summary :

We are looking for a Senior Python Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python, backend architecture, and Generative AI (GenAI) technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable backend services, integrating LLM-based solutions, and building secure, high-performance AI-powered applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python.

- Build robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support enterprise applications.

- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI capabilities into backend systems.

- Develop AI-powered applications using frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.

- Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using embeddings, vector databases, and enterprise data sources.

- Implement prompt engineering, context management, and LLM response evaluation techniques.

- Integrate AI services and models through APIs, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.

- Work with relational and NoSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.

- Implement authentication, authorisation, data security, and API protection mechanisms.

- Optimise application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system reliability.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, data scientists, AI engineers, and product teams.

- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, testing, and deployment activities.

- Deploy and monitor applications using cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7+ years of experience in backend software development, primarily using Python.

- Strong proficiency in Python programming, object-oriented programming, and asynchronous programming.

- Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

- Practical experience with Generative AI, LLM integrations, and AI-powered application development.

- Familiarity with LLM APIs and frameworks such as OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.

- Experience building RAG pipelines, working with embeddings, and integrating vector databases.

- Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.

- Experience with Git, automated testing, debugging, and code quality practices.

- Understanding of application security, scalability, and performance optimisation.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Good to Have :

- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or FAISS.

- Knowledge of AI agents, tool calling, and multi-agent workflows.

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, or other caching and messaging technologies.

- Exposure to LLM evaluation, monitoring, guardrails, and model observability.

- Experience deploying production-grade AI solutions in enterprise environments.
