Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Framework Engineer with experience in delivering Security Maintenance Releases (SMR) and Maintenance Releases (MR) for Android platforms. You will work at the core of the Android operating system, developing and maintaining components within the Android Framework to ensure security, stability, and performance across system updates.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain core Android Framework components (e.g., ActivityManager, WindowManager, PackageManager).

- Work closely with the security team to analyze and integrate Android SMR patches from AOSP and Google security bulletins.

- Manage and deliver monthly Security and Maintenance Releases (SMR/MR) across devices.

- Fix bugs and vulnerabilities in the Android Framework, ensuring system reliability and compliance.

- Collaborate with HAL, kernel, and system teams to ensure end-to-end integration of framework-level updates.

- Analyze crash logs, ANRs, and performance regressions; implement solutions efficiently.

- Contribute to platform bring-up and system integration for new Android OS versions (AOSP).

Required Skills :

- Proficient in Java, C and C++.

- Deep understanding of Android Framework architecture and AOSP internals.

- Experience working with Android SMRs and MRs.

- Familiarity with security patch backporting and OTA delivery mechanisms.

- Strong debugging skills using tools like adb, logcat, Systrace, Perfetto, etc.

- Experience with Git, Gerrit, and Android build systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working with OEMs or chipset vendors (e.g., Qualcomm, MediaTek).

- Exposure to Android CTS/GTS/VTS compliance and release management.

- Contributions to AOSP or other open-source Android projects.

- Understanding of SELinux policies and Android security models.
