The role :

- We at Anchanto are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team responsible for developing database solutions.

- The right candidate will energize the team, foster collaboration across the organization, and lead the drive toward high-caliber, high-performing products.

Description :

- Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.

- Configure RDS services, create & manage documentation for the configurations.

- Troubleshoot DB Server outages, errors, slowness as they occur, including some after-hours and weekend support as needed.

- Configure DB monitoring utilities to help communicate risks proactively.

- Determine the most effective way to increase performance and recommend hardware upgrades, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.

- Develop/configure monitoring solutions to continuously monitor DB performance.

- Work with development teams to understand their needs and propose most optimal physical implementations.

- Configure database in the high-availability clustering mode and/or on cloud as necessary.

- Be the in-house expert for DB administration best practices including data backup and retrieval.

- Must be able to learn various database technologies such as MySQL, Postgres and NoSQL databases.

You need to have/ Required skills :

- Must have at least 5 years of hands on experience as a DBA.

- Must have strong database administration skills such as backup, performance monitoring, resource management, DB tuning, user rights, scheduling jobs, monitoring jobs, reading an interpreting SQL logs etc.

- either in MySQL or PostGres or both.

- Role requires to work on both databases as well NoSQL databases in future.

- Must have excellent knowledge of Data modelling and design.

- Must have strong knowledge and hands on expertise in stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, jobs and performance tuning.

- Must have strong knowledge of AWS RDS services.

- Knowledge of reporting tools is a plus.

- Experience with Data Warehouse and BI systems is also a plus.

- Prior experience with building high performance e-commerce software is also a big plus.
