Job Title : Principal Functional Architect.
Common Accountabilities :
- Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists.
- Understands how main business drivers may impact on own area.
- Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes,
recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans.
- Able to communicate complex information.
- Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions.
- Leads projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects.
- May contribute to planning of resources and budget.
Specific Accountabilities :
- Influence in SAFe at ART level.
- Interact with Product Managers or directly with the customers to ensure a full understanding
of the business needs and customer constraints.
- Combine focus on customer expectations and integration of Amadeus strategy for any proposal.
- Lead studies, analyze cross functional requirements, and other cross-organization, cross-functional solutions by interacting with all stakeholders (including architects, technical and functional experts, delivery teams).
- Understand how functions work and promote cross-business synergies and Amadeus vision via solution recommendations.
- Contribute to break vision down into achievable actions while keeping global consistency and feasibility over areas.
- Communicate progress on solutions and agreements at any stage of the mission within the core team.
- Document and present solution recommendations to all stakeholders during solution review forums, with the ability to explain complex technical information in simple ways to a diverse audience.
- Handover the solution, when validated, to SAFe organizations when entering development phase.
- Advertise the role to attract new talents
Architecture & Design Patterns :
- Expert knowledge of modern architectural patterns: Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), API Gateways, and principles of Service Mesh.
Scaled Agile Frameworks :
- Deep understanding and practical experience working within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), specifically relating to the role of an Architect within an ART (Agile Release Train) and defining the Architectural Runway.
Integration & APIs :
- Expertise in designing robust API strategies (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) and ensuring secure, high-performance system integration across heterogeneous platforms.
- Experience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ is essential.
Cloud & Distributed Systems :
- Strong foundation in Cloud-Native architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing concepts.
Data Architecture :
- Experience defining solutions that leverage various data stores (SQL/NoSQL) and knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data pipeline design principles.
Security, Performance & Resilience :
- Ability to incorporate core non-functional requirements (NFRs) into design, including high-availability ($99.99\%+$), scalability, latency optimization, and security (e.g., threat modeling, authentication/authorization mechanisms).
Technology Stack :
- Proficiency in modern software development technologies, including one or more of : Java/Spring, Python, or Go, and related frameworks.
