Role Breakdown :

Process & Delivery :


- Implement and manage a lightweight Agile framework (Scrum/Kanban hybrid) with a consistent bi-weekly release cycle.


- Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and capacity planning.


- Clearly communicate sprint goals, maintain burn-up dashboards, and define comprehensive Definitions of Done.


- Establish structures and processes that maximize speed, agility, and quality in development.


Technical & Hands-On Coding :


- Actively participate in hands-on development with the MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) stack; review critical PRs, write code, debug, and solve technical bottlenecks.


- Lead architectural decisions emphasizing performance, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.


- Champion "docs-as-code" (Markdown, Git) for structured documentation of systems, APIs, and operational run-books.


Team Scaling & Talent Development :


- Strategically scale the engineering team by identifying and hiring the right talent aligned with AiSensy's culture and growth trajectory.


- Mentor, groom, and coach team members, ensuring continuous skill enhancement and professional growth.


- Define clear hiring criteria, interview processes, and onboarding programs.


Quality & Reliability :


- Establish CI/CD practices, automated regression testing, and robust rollback mechanisms.


- Monitor and optimize engineering metrics (DORA : lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR).


- Drive incident root-cause analyses and integrate findings into ongoing development practices.


Your Profile :

- 5-8 years of engineering leadership experience in high-growth startups scaling from 10 to 30+ engineers.

- Extensive hands-on experience coding in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, MongoDB.

- Demonstrated success in introducing CI/CD pipelines, docs-as-code practices, automated testing, and Agile methodologies.

- Proven ability to scale engineering teams effectively.

- Deep understanding and proactive management of engineering KPIs (commit vs. delivered, MTTR, etc.)

- Exceptional communication skillsable to clearly articulate complex technical concepts.


Bonus Points for :

- Familiarity with WhatsApp Business APIs, Kafka/RabbitMQ, or microservice/event-driven architectures.

- Experience with cloud infrastructures like AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

- Contributions to tech communities through blogs, open-source projects, or speaking engagements.


Success Metrics (First 180 Days) :

- 30 Days : Defined and visible sprint processes, alignment on release cadence.

- 60 Days : Docs-as-code fully operational; 80% features documented pre-development.

- 90 Days : 95% sprint goal achievement, change-failure rate below 3%, minimal bug backlog, and structured team scaling underway.
