- Assess and monitor the health of a large-scale PostgreSQL (Aurora RDS) database (> 50 TB).

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, including I/O, memory, and CPU-related issues.

- Identify and optimize DB bottlenecks, long-running SQL queries, indexes, and schema design.

- Implement robust Guardrails for observability, monitoring, query control, and DB health.

- Design data retention and purging policies to reduce storage bloat.

- Consult with application teams on schema redesign and query optimization.

- Guide the transition and offloading of analytical workloads to OLAP

- Recommend cost-effective strategies to reduce AWS resource consumption.

- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to align DB performance with app functionality.

Requirements :

- 12+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration and architecture.

- Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora and AWS cost/performance optimization.

- Proven Expertise in query tuning, indexing strategies, and storage management.

- Good understanding of geospatial queries, time-series data, and large-scale data processing.

- Familiarity with S3 Redshift, Snowflake, and Iceberg.

- Experience managing data-intensive platforms with complex reporting and analytics needs.

- Knowledge of observability tools, query logging, and alerting systems.
