The AI Solutions Developer is a hands-on technical role responsible for evaluating, developing, and maintaining Companys internal AI platform built on a custom fork of OpenWebUI.

This position will assess the feasibility and complexity of extending the platform to serve as the organizations enterprise GPT solution including integrations with corporate data sources (Microsoft Fabric, ERP systems, and other business datasets via API and MCP servers), automated document generation (PDF, Word, Excel, and other formats), and robotic process automation (RPA) workflows.

The AI Solutions Developer will create technical plans for these capabilities, prototype solutions, build what is validated, and ensure the platform evolves to meet the needs of business users across all divisions.

Essential Job Functions :

- Create and maintain a custom fork of OpenWebUI, evaluating the codebase for extensibility and developing a technical roadmap for customizations including user management, model routing, and platform enhancements to serve as internal GPT solution

- Assess and implement data integrations connecting the AI platform to Microsoft Fabric, Oracle EBS, Dynamics 365, Priority ERP, and other enterprise data sources leveraging MCP servers and existing connectors where feasible, and developing custom API integrations where code-level work is required

- Evaluate the feasibility of and develop automated document generation capabilities within the AI platform, enabling users to produce formatted output files including PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint, and CSV from AI-driven workflows

- Create custom tools, functions, and pipelines within the AI platform to extend capabilities, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, custom model integrations, and RPA/workflow automations that connect AI outputs to business processes (e.g., Power Automate, n8n)

- Develop and manage authentication, role-based access control, and security configurations for the AI platform in alignment with enterprise security policies and CMMC Level 2 requirements

- Build and optimize prompt engineering templates, knowledge bases, and curated datasets to improve AI response quality and relevance for specific business functions across divisions

- Provide technical support and training to end users on AI platform capabilities, create user documentation, and collaborate with the AI Lead on adoption and change management strategies

- Implement monitoring, logging, and performance analytics for the AI platform, including usage metrics, response quality tracking, and system health dashboards

- Stay current with OpenWebUI releases, LLM advancements, and emerging AI development frameworks; assess the complexity and level of effort for proposed features, prototype solutions as proof-of-concepts, and provide technical recommendations to the AI Lead

Education and Experience (Qualifications) :

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.

- 3+ years of experience in software development, with at least 1 year focused on AI/ML applications, LLM integrations, or AI platform development

- Hands-on experience with OpenWebUI, LangChain, or similar open-source AI platforms and frameworks

- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience building REST APIs and working with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure)

- Experience with API integration development and cloud services (Microsoft Azure), including connecting to enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, SQL databases, and ERP system APIs

- Working knowledge of document generation libraries and techniques for producing PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and other output formats programmatically

- Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems (Oracle EBS, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar), RPA/workflow automation tools (Power Automate, n8n, or similar), and understanding of

manufacturing business processes is a plus

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple development tasks concurrently, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

A working knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chain, finance, and sales processes will be important as the AI platform will serve users across these areas.

Ability to understand the organization structure, businesses and sites, and applying that knowledge to

project planning, stakeholder engagement, and cross-site coordination.

Computer Skills :

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern web frameworks.

- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Git version control, REST API development, and Linux server administration is required.

- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, database query languages (SQL), enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, and RPA/workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, n8n, or similar) is expected.

Analytical, Business and Technical :

- Ability to apply knowledge of AI/ML technologies, software development practices, and data integration patterns to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across distributed systems and APIs.

- Ability to understand and support AS9100, ISO and Lean Manufacturing methodologies as they relate to ERP system requirements.

- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work across multiple concurrent development tasks and projects.

- Proficiency in version control, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies. Ability to hold sensitive data and information in confidence.
